On the first day, we set off toward Hito Cajón, Bolivia—specifically the area of ​​Laguna Blanca and Laguna Verde. It is important to remember to bring your passport for this part of the trip. Upon arrival, we had breakfast, went for a short hike (3 hours) around the two lagoons, and then returned for dinner and to spend the night. The following day, we had breakfast and departed from the refuge at 4:00 a.m., reaching the base of the volcano by 4:30 a.m. The ascent takes approximately 6 hours, and the descent takes 3 hours. We then returned to the refuge to collect our belongings; from there, the same Bolivian vehicle took us to the border, where we switched to a Chilean vehicle, arriving back in San Pedro at approximately 5:00 p.m.
