On the first day, we set off towards Hito Cajón, Bolivia, specifically the Laguna Blanca and Laguna Verde area. It's important not to forget your passport for this leg of the journey. Upon arrival, we had breakfast and then took a short trek (3 hours) around the two lagoons before returning for dinner and the night. The following day, after breakfast, we left the refuge at 4:00 a.m., arriving at the base of the volcano at 4:30 a.m. The ascent takes approximately 6 hours, and the descent 3 hours. We returned to the refuge, collected our belongings, and the same Bolivian vehicle dropped us off at the border. There, we transferred to a Chilean vehicle and returned to San Pedro at approximately 5:00 p.m.
