The departure is from your hotel, heading east for 40 kilometers along the Paso de Jama international route. Near Hito Cajón—the gateway to Bolivia—we turn onto the road toward the Toco stratovolcano, where we are rewarded with a panoramic view of the San Pedro de Atacama oasis, the Cordillera de la Sal, the Cordillera de Domeyko, Cerro Kimal, and the Salar de Atacama.
