We head south along Route 23, where we will set up breakfast before reaching the Tropic of Capricorn. Our first stop is at the "Piedras Rojas" (Red Rocks) by the Aguas Calientes lagoon, where we will take a hike of approximately two hours to view the rock formations and the colors of the lagoons.
On the way back, we stop by the Miscanti and Meñiques lagoons, where we can also take a walk along the shore to observe the local flora and fauna.
Then we continue along the road to the heart of the Atacama Salt Flat—Laguna Chaxa—where we can observe flamingos.
To conclude, we will have lunch at a restaurant in either Toconao or San Pedro, depending on the number of people in Toconao.
